The 40 Day Organization Challenge

I decided to start this challenge after my husband sent me a link from YourModernFamily. Let me just say that I'm a very disorganized person, so this will be a big challenge for me! I thought,  'how better to keep myself motivated through this journey by helping others while writing about it each day?'

So here I go!

Day 1  Fridge clean-out

It was supposed to take me approximately 30 minutes to empty, clean and organize my refrigerator.  Lets just say that was not the case....
I would say it took me at least 2 hours, but then again I had a screaming toddler at my feet. In the end, I had a nice sparkling clean fridge.

Here's the how to...

Supplies:
 -rags
 -cleaner
 -glade press n seal wrap
 -masking tape
 -sharpie
------------------------------------------------------

Step 1- Empty fridge and clean thoroughly with some rags and a cleaner.

Step 2- Wrap refrigerator shelves in glade's press n seal wrap, making spills easier to clean up.

Step 3- Label foods with dates (opened or cooked, etc.); use the masking tape for non disposable containers to create the label, or write directly onto disposable containers.

Step 4- Allow nothing but a few photos on the door of the fridge to keep it looking organized.  Important papers and such can be tucked away on the side of the fridge.  Make a label out of masking tape to stick onto the front of the fridge and write today's date. Clean out your fridge 30 days from now.

Tommorrows challenge will be Cabinets and Drawers in 5 easy steps

Until tomorrow-

SATC: Carrie Bradshaw's best outfits (Season 1-6 + first film)

(Long sigh) Oh, Carrie Bradshaw. What would women across America do without you? Your sex columns, retail addictions and endless fashion statements are more than just a few reasons to consider you as our favorite fictional style icon. Throughout the entire six seasons, two films and combining the old episodes with the new, here are the outfits I became quite obsessed with over the years.

The Naked Dress.

The amazing Donna Karan gown that Carrie wore at a wedding in season 1.  Flesh toned, long and flowing;

The epitome of  ‘beautiful nude’ that would definitely show up any bride at any real wedding. The shoes however……

The white dress that Carrie wore when she famously rejected Aidan’s marriage proposal in season 4.

The soft scoop with the pointed neckline is ridiculously classy, sexy and all around stunning. Ready for the irony? This piece would have made a gorgeous wedding gown.

Dating the Politician

Image

Remember CB’s politician boyfriend? Probably not, but her “channeling Jackie O” looks were so unforgettable, even Jackie O herself would be jealous. Yep, I said it.

Paris in black & white

CB’s trip to Paris was the best way to showcase the ability to adapt the outfits to the fashionable environment. An American Girl in Paris had me foaming at the mouth.  This look in particular was the opening to her journey in France. The gorgeous Sonai Rykiel top, the Benaz Sarafpour coat and that gorgeous Chanel headpiece? Perfection.

Ladybug in Paris

This little Ladybug dress. Or is it a watermelon? Who knows, but I know I love that jacket on top of whatever is happening underneath.  At this point, I want to kiss the soles of Pat Fields’ feet.

Drop Dead Parisian

Image

This. Couture and everything holy. This was the tip of the iceberg. The drop dead gorgeous Versace Couture gown that she wore in Paris. The gray, the glitz and all things glamorous. So Parisian and so very Carrie. I don’t know about you, but I could wear this dress on a daily basis.

That dress with the flower on it.

The opening outfit of the SATC movie. I remember being in the theatre and hearing everyone (well, every woman) gasp in their seats when they saw this beauty. Needless to say, flowers started trending as soon as the film had ended.

The VW Wedding Gown

Image

Here it is. The holy grail of CB fashion. Carries (first) wedding outfit. The teal headpiece atop the veil was the perfect accessory to this Vivienne Westwood classic, and I was gleaming with fashion-joy when VW sent the dress over to CB for her wedding. Too bad we didn’t see it walk down the aisle..
